Farmstead Arts regrets that the storytelling event with Linda Howe has been canceled for Sunday, Dec. 11 due to illness.  We wish Linda a speedy recovery and will let everyone know when another storytelling event with Linda can be scheduled.  


Stories & Art with Linda Howe Sunday, Dec. 11, 2-4 PM

Master Storyteller Linda Howe will  entertain and inspire children and adults of all ages with her wonderful tales perfectly suited for the holidays at Farmstead Arts, called "Horse and Holiday Tales". The storytelling will include the creation by the participants of a remarkable horse made from recycled materials, which will be kept at the Farmstead "stables".  The cost is $10 for adults and children over 5, and $5 for seniors and children 5 and under The event will take place in the farmhouse at 450 King George Road in Basking Ridge.


Linda Howe of New Providence has over 30 years experience of storytelling, writing, and creating art in Pennsylvania, Connecticut, New Jersey, and Massachusetts. In New Jersey, she has participated in storytelling at the Great Swamp Halloween event, the Chatham and Warren school districts, the Early Crafts and Trade Museum in Madison, and at the Chatham and Montclair libraries, as well as, a variety of camps in the North East. She is on the faculty at the Yard School at Montclair Museum where she teaches studio courses and an intuitive print-making drawing process called “touch drawing.” In addition, she is a writer, poet, and certified teacher who also enjoys working with seniors at senior centers, nursing homes, and assisted living facilities performing and conducting courses on drawing out the stories of their lives. 


Register using paypal on this site, or send a check, payable to Friends of the KMS Farmstead, to Farmstead Arts, PO Box 155, Basking Ridge, NJ  07920 with a note including your email, address and phone, and the number and type of tickets you are requesting. Confirmations will be sent by email or phone.  Tickets will be sold at the door, based on availability.  A maximum of 40 tickets will be sold.  

The Farmstead Arts farmhouse is wheelchair accessible.  Anyone anticipating the need for additional accessibility services is requested to make a request by sending an e-mail to the farmsteadartscenter@gmail.com at least three weeks in advance.

Farmstead Arts



Farmstead Arts is a not for profit, volunteer-run arts center located at 450 King George Road in Basking Ridge, NJ at the historic Kennedy Martin Stelle Farmstead. The center offers  classes, art shows, concerts and workshops by professional and emerging artists in the performing, visual and practical arts. The farmhouse, which dates back to the 1700’s, is listed on the National and State Historic Registers, along with the English barn and other outbuildings. The center sits on a bucolic four acre parcel of land that is nestled above the banks of the Passiac River.
